The Green School Foundation NZ exists to catalyse regeneration—of land, learning, and community.
As the charitable arm of Green School New Zealand, we provide scholarships to students who will become catalysts for change in their families and communities, while funding projects that restore ecosystems, revitalize food systems, and reconnect people to place.
We regenerate education by breaking down financial barriers to transformative learning. We regenerate whenua by supporting communities to heal degraded land and restore native ecosystems. Through this dual approach, we're nurturing a generation equipped to heal our planet while simultaneously supporting communities to do that healing work right now.
True regeneration recognizes that children, families, teachers, communities, and land are interconnected living systems. When we invest in one, we restore them all.
What we do
As the charitable arm of Green School New Zealand, we believe true sustainability goes beyond preservation; it's about actively restoring and renewing. Our foundation recognizes that regeneration starts with children, extends through families and teachers, ripples across communities, and ultimately transforms our relationship with the living world.
Regenerating Education
We provide scholarships to students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring financial barriers never prevent access to transformative education. These students join a learning community that views education as regeneration itself—renewing how we think, learn, and relate to our planet.
Regenerating Whenua
We support community-led projects that actively restore and renew—from school gardens that regenerate soil and learning, to coastal restoration, to waste-to-resource systems. We prioritize projects that engage rangatahi, support teachers, strengthen families, and heal whenua.
Spreading Wisdom
We develop and share educational resources on regenerative practices, making Green School’s innovative curriculum available to teachers, schools, and communities nationwide. By equipping educators with regenerative frameworks, we multiply impact across generations.
